Washington, DC- Today, Congresswoman Donna Shalala (FL-27) issued the following statement after President Donald Trump’s visit to Doral:

“President Trump may be the most shameless politician in living memory. Today he spoke to South Florida’s Venezuelan community and touted his supposed “accomplishments,” patting himself on the back while his failed leadership makes Miami-Dade a global epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Venezuelan people continue suffering under the oppression of Nicolas Maduro – a dictator who he admires.

“Once again, the president has demonstrated he has little regard for the wellbeing of anyone but himself.  Rather than bask in his gilded failures, he should grant TPS to the Venezuelan people and provide the leadership our community and country desperately need during this crisis.”
